Copper Bonded Earth Rods / Ground Rods

Manufactured with high quality by Techniples in Dammam, we are first ever to manufacture in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The steel core used for the manufacturing of the Copper Bonded Earth Rods is high tensile strength. The rods are electroplated with indigenously developed baths to produce a very strong bonding between the steel and copper. Also the innovative plating methods allows us to maintain copper plating thickness of minimum 250 microns at any point on the rods.

Copper Coating Thickness

All 100% rods (full production) are subjected to the coating thickness test. Every rod at several points is checked by an electronic thickness tester to measure the copper thickness on the steel core.

Earth Rod

A rod that is driven into the ground to provide electrical connection to the ground to carry current safely away from a circuit in the event of an electrical surge. A ground rod has a high tensile strength, low carbon steel core. 99.99% pure copper is applied electrolytically and forms a metallurgical bond between the steel core and the copper.

It is a fundamental fact that electricity always flows to the point of lowest potential. The task is to help ensure that electricity, including faults, lightning & electronic noise, and flows to this point with maximum safety to people, while maintaining the reliability of equipment. Therefore, we must help ensure the safe, controlled flow of electricity with minimum voltage drop to earth in all cases.

What is the purpose of a Ground Rod?

A ground rod or a ground field’s only purpose in life is to have a designed electrical path to dissipate a static discharge voltage to earth.
Electrical power distribution systems are often connected to ground to limit the voltage that can appear on distribution circuits. A distribution system insulated from ground may attain a high potential due to transient voltages caused by arcing, static electricity, or accidental contact with higher potential circuits.

Why is grounding important?

Here are 5 main reasons why grounding electrical currents is so important.

Protection against electrical overload

One of the most important reasons for grounding electrical currents is that it protects your appliances, your home and everyone in it from surges in electricity. If lightning was to strike or the power was to surge at your place for whatever reason, this produces dangerously high voltages of electricity in your system. One of the reasons why grounding helps to keep you safe is because the earth is such a great conductor, and because excess electricity will always take the path of least resistance. By grounding your electrical system, you are giving it somewhere to go other than into you – possibly saving your life.
