VSL’s experience in post-tensioning and related engineering goes back more than 50 years. VSL operates through 34 subsidiaries as a world-wide network, including two production facilities in Spain and China. With 3,200 employees, including 900 engineers
and technicians, the group provides technical consultancy and support for the full range of works from project planning (development of preliminary designs, alternative design proposals) to complete final designs, construction engineering and on-site activities. Post-tensioning, stay cables & construction methods
The company has adapted post-tensioning principles to civil structures such as buildings, bridges, LNG tanks, reservoirs, plants, tunnels, offshore platforms,
concrete floating barges dams and stay cables. It has participated in the construction of over one hundred stay cable bridges.

Creative solutions Over the years, VSL has contributed to some of the most prestigious and complex concrete structures. These include the world’s largest concrete barge (the N'Kossa barge in France), pre-casting and erection of segments for the LRT (Metro system) in Dubai, & the heavy lifting of pinnacle for Burj Dubai, the tallest tower in the world. Striving to continuously improve methods and promote innovative solutions and products, VSL undertakes strong R&D. In 2008, the VSL budget for R&D projects amounts to 3 million euros.

Reliable partner VSL’s Major Project division provides skilled and trained staff with a core of 85 bridge specialists and experienced technical centers. VSL is also committed to offering an innovative contracting approach enabling the company and the contractor to focus on what is “best for project”.

VSL Middle East LLC VSL has been working in the Middle East since the 1970’s and in the UAE for the past 15 years. Over this period, several hundred projects have been completed and currently we have over 50 projects in hand.
Middle East operations are managed from a new, centralized facility, located in Dubai Investment Park 2, Jebel Ali, UAE, which includes a Technical Centre, Training Academy, Equipment Maintenance, Calibration Facility & Storage Yard for post-tensioning & bar system components.

VSL Bar Systems VSL have formed a strategic alliance with Stahlwerk Annahuette (SAH), Germany, who is the leading producer of hot rolled thread bars. SAH bars are produced in various grades - grade 75 (500 N/mm²) to grade 160 (1100 N/mm²) - and covering vast range of diameters (12 to 75 mm). SAH thread bars are widely used in a large number of construction applications, such as marine works as tie back anchors (for sheet pile walls), geotechnical works (as rock anchors, rock bolts, soil nail, micro-piles), Post tensioning works, Formwork tie rods and Reinforced coupling systems
