Getting here was half the fun! As we celebrate an incredible 90 years, we are grateful to our partners, customers and Christie people around the world, for feeding our passion and collaborating to create the world’s best shared experiences.

From our origins in 1929 California as founder S.L. Christie builds his first film projector, to our 1999 acquisition of Kitchener, Canada’s Electrohome Projection Systems, and that time we revolutionized the movie industry with the launch of digital cinema projection, Christie blazes fresh trails.

We may be celebrating 90 years, but we are fresh, vital and leading-edge.

Our Kitchener, Canada facility is a global center for advanced manufacturing and engineering excellence. Recognized as one of the most innovative AV manufacturers today, we consistently set the standard. In 2018, AV Magazine named us the Most Influential Company of the last 20 years. Esteemed industry peers of the International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA) awarded us the 2018 Teddy Award for Manufacturer of the Year for the third time, having also chosen Christie in 1998 and 2010. With more than 50 industry-firsts, more than 100 patents, countless industry awards, and even multiple Academy Awards, we embrace innovation.

Our head office is located in Cypress, California, USA. Our engineering and manufacturing headquarters are in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and we have another manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China.

Christie is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ushio, Inc., of Japan. Ushio is a leading manufacturer of specialty and general illumination lighting solutions and is publicly traded on the Nikkei-Dow (Tokyo) under the symbol JP:6925.
