SEVO Systems products revolutionize the way clean agent fire suppression systems are designed, installed and maintained. Our History

SEVO Systems was formed in 2001 to develop and commercialize a revolutionary new technology, Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid, invented and marketed by 3M for use in fire suppression systems. This development represented a major breakthrough in halon replacement technology – combining high extinguishing efficiency with excellent environmental, health and safety properties. Our Clean Agent Fire Suppression Systems exclusively utilize 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid.

SEVO represents a “safe, environmental choice” and having working hand in hand with 3M during the development of Novec 1230 Fluid, became its first OEM partner to commercialize a UL approved fire suppression system utilizing this new technology.

SEVO Systems is a manufacturer of waterless fire protection utilizing 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid in many industries including oil and gas, marine, power generation, telecommunications and electrical data and control.

SEVO Systems’ distribution is established in over 55 countries in North America, South America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East providing full engineering and mission critical services to support our distributors and end users. Our engineered and pre-engineered total flooding systems have been tested and approved by UL, ULC and FM Global, as well as by other major international agencies and marine approval bodies.

With zero ozone depletion potential, a global warming potential of one and a short atmospheric lifetime of just five days, Novec 1230 Fluid is the first chemical halon replacement to offer viable, long-term, sustainability for special hazards fire protection. Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid has the largest safety margin of any chemical halon replacement available due to the fact that its use concentration is much lower than its NOAEL.

Our total flooding systems are available at either 360 or 500 psi storage pressure. We are the only company to develop clean agent fire suppression systems with Novec 1230 Fluid at 500 psi using conventional welded cylinders. This higher storage pressure allows for a “True Retrofit” of existing halon systems by utilizing existing pipe networks in over 90% of cases. In new construction, higher pressure allows for the use of longer pipe runs as well as small pipe diameters, saving on overall cost.

Our SEVO stand-alone “plug and play” modular units work well in atypical as well as in standard installations. These factory-built units, with integrated detection and control, arrive pre-piped and ready to install. Our cost efficient modular units have become the industry standard for telecom, power generation and data centers, allowing for a quick and easy installation.

With our Clean Agent Pumping System, you can maintain and refill cylinders on site. The SEVO CAPS System eliminates the need to remove agent storage cylinders from the field and ensures that cylinders can be refilled and returned to service within 24 hours per NFPA 2001 and other international standards.

Force 500: Total Flooding Fire Protection System

The SEVO™ 1230 FORCE500™ Clean Agent Fire Suppression System is a revolutionary new technology for clean agent systems that utilizes 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid and its unique ability to be pressurized to 500 psi (34.5 bar). It allows for longer pipe runs and smaller pipe diameters in addition to its cost saving benefits of using less clean agent in smaller and/or fewer cylinders per project. Along with these new engineering capabilities, it includes standard monitoring components such as an integrated pressure switch, pressure gauge, and gauge guard. The low vapor pressure of Novec 1230 FLuid allows for the use of low pressure welded cylinders and Schedule 40 piping. With these revolutionary features, the FORCE500 is a standout to conventional 360 psi (25 bar) systems.

Modular: Pre-Engineered Clean Agent Systems

The MCV (Modular / Cylinder / Valve Assembly) Series is an integrated Clean Agent Fire Suppression System utilizing 3MTM NovecTM 1230 Fire Protection Fluid and equipped with the Notifier RP 2002 agent releasing control panel that is prewired and programmed. The electric actuator, piezo alarm, horn / strobe, and maintenance disable switch are prewired to the agent releasing control panel allowing for minimal remote devices to be wired.

Fire Flex: Integrated Pre-Action Fire Suppression System

The new FireFlex® Dual integrated system consists of a clean agent fire extinguishing system, factory- assembled in a cabinet. It integrates all the components necessary for a complete extinguishing system, including the releasing control panel.

The FireFlex® Dual System uses 3MTM NovecTM 1230 Fire Protection Fluid. This clean extinguishing agent is based on sustainable technology and is the only chemical agent currently available that meets the most stringent actual and future environmental standards. NovecTM 1230 fluid is the only extinguishing agent that allows a 1 for 1 cylinder replacement for Halon.
