About Motor Test Equipment

Winding ohmmeters RMO-M series measure winding resistance of inductive test objects such as electrical motors and generators. Motor test or generator test of winding resistance is especially important for early-stage failure detection.

RMO-M series instruments generate true DC ripple-free current with automatically regulated measurement and discharge process. Even more, test instruments are portable and enclosed in a metal casing.

Applications supported by DV Power motor/generator test equipment include:

  • Winding resistance measurement of generators and electrical motors
  • Resistance measurement of high-current bus bar joints
  • Resistance measurement of cable splices

All of the above-mentioned measurements are performed with the highest accuracy. The advanced DV-Win PC software enables collecting both numerical and graphical results. These features provide an easier and more efficient analysis. After the test, a DV-Win software generates a test report a single click.  Finally, a user can easily customize the report and save it in different formats, such as XLS and PDF.

About Circuit Breaker Test Equipment

DV Power has released a new generation of circuit breaker test equipment for condition assessment of medium and high voltage circuit breakers.

Field-portable instruments with standalone or PC controlled functionality, allow performing various tests during circuit breaker manufacturing, commissioning and maintenance stages.

Applications supported by the DV Power test equipment include measurements of:

  • Contact resistance
  • DRM (dynamic resistance measurement)
  • Coil resistance and coil current (IEC 62271-100)
  • Mechanism charging time (IEC 62271-100)
  • Minimum trip voltage (IEC 56, ANSI C37.09)
  • Undervoltage release (IEC 60694)
  • The timing of a circuit breaker’s main, auxiliary and pre-insertion contacts
  • Synchronization between the contacts
  • Motion and velocity
  • “First trip” test

The essential part of a circuit breaker condition assessment is the ability to compare the latest test results with the previous testing. Accordingly, our instruments store measured values and compare them to a manufacturer’s limits. Also, a fingerprint obtained in this way can be used at a later stage as a reference during subsequent measurements. In order to obtain an accurate comparison, the tests need to be performed using identical test parameters. Consequently, any deviation and change in the test results may indicate the circuit breaker condition deterioration. Even more, to overcome this issue, DV-Win enables test plans and graph overlay features.

Finally, as a final result of a circuit breaker maintenance process, the DV-Win provides analytical tools and customized report creations.

About Transformer Test Equipment

DV Power test instruments perform various diagnostic tests on power and instrument transformers. Even more, a unique feature is a condition assessment of on-load tap changers. Performing a transformer test before their breakage can be crucial.

Test instruments are portable and enclosed in durable metal cases. Also, the 19” rack-mounted version suitable for factories is available as well.

Applications supported by DV Power transformer test equipment include:

  • Winding resistance measurement (IEC 60076-1)
  • Analysis of on-load tap changers (IEC 60214-1)
  • Heat run test (IEC 60076-2)
  • Automatic transformer demagnetization
  • Turns ratio measurement of power and instrument transformers (IEC 60076-1)
  • Excitation current measurement
  • Phase angle measurement
  • Transformer vector group detection
  • Demagnetization status verification

The advanced DV-Win PC software collects both numerical and graphical results. As a result of that, these features provide an easier and more efficient analysis. After the test, DV-Win software generates a test report with a single click. Furthermore, a user can easily customize the test report and save it in different formats, such as XLS or PDF.

Finally, the analysis of on-load tap changers is performed by the new method called dynamic resistance measurement (DRM). This is a non-intrusive method. Therefore, it allows detecting problems in on-load tap changers without disassembling them.

About Battery Test Equipment

Improper functioning of battery systems installed in utilities, power plants, telecommunication systems, industrial applications and etc., can cause severe failures of the supported equipment and loss of critical information. Therefore, the battery test verifies their actual SOC (State of Charge) or SOH (State of Health) and prevents unwanted scenarios which could result in a significant budget loss as well as endanger of human lives.

DV Power battery test equipment is able to perform the following battery measurements, using BLU and BVR devices:

  • Voltage (String and Cell)
  • Capacity
  • Temperature
  • Density of electrolyte

About Electrical Safety Test Equipment

Making a product “safe” requires an understanding of “hazards” that exist in each electrical product. Electrical shock is one of the four fundamental hazards. Because of that, it must be a part of any product electrical safety evaluation. Even though a product requires an electrical power source and uses electrical or electronic components, it should not present an electrical shock hazard to the user.

Ground bond or earth continuity testing prevents electrical shock hazards. Similarly to a fault to earth, test instruments generate a high current. The standard requires that the resistance between protective earth and any conductive surface on the equipment does not exceed 0,1 Ohm. The test is performed by applying a DC current between the conductive surface and protective earth. By measuring the voltage drop, it calculates the resistance.

RMO-E instruments are ideal for testing the protective bonding (grounding) of equipment following the standard IEC 61010-1. Applying current up to the value of 100 A and the ability to provide in the Contin menu (continuous operation) test current for the pre-set test duration (equal or exceeding 1 min) gives a user a possibility to easily check the protective bonding/grounding of the equipment. The full load voltage of 12 V assures proper measurement and accurate result. Finally, an instrument displays pass/fail classification according to user-preset parameters.

About Accessories

As an addition to its measuring instruments, DV Power offers high-quality compatible accessories compliant to international standards.

The range includes various types of transducers and transducers mounting kits. Furthermore, it extends to cases and bags that are used for storage and transportation of DV Power instruments and their test leads. Finally, it includes diverse sets of cables, leads, and corresponding probes and clips.

Also, it is possible to order special instruments like safety switchbox or verification calibrator. These instruments extend the scope of application of DV Power’s measuring instruments.
